When I was dating a brother in my congregation our parents made ridiculous 'scriptural' rules for our dating:
We could only go in field service together in a car group of five. (How many car groups have five people?!)
We could talk on the phone for 30 minutes a week.
We could not go out in public or to a gathering without 8 (count them - eight) chaperones.
We could write letters to one another but only one 1page letter per week each.
Our parents said that one day we would thank them for this...I looked at my mother and said, 'No, I will never thank you for what you are doing to us.' I was right...neither of us ever appreciated it.
"...if there is a hell, I'll see you there." (NIN - Downward Spiral)
I'll be the one providing the fire.
